Cookies — and what we use instead

No, not in the traditional sense. We do not set any HTTP cookies from PolarStarLanding. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no consent-management cookies, and no third-party cookies of any kind. You will not see a cookie banner because we do not need one.

The games use the browser's localStorage to remember a few things between visits. localStorage is similar to a cookie in that it stores data in your browser, but unlike a cookie it is never sent to a server — it lives only on your device.

Here is everything PolarStarLanding may store locally:

• psl.lang — your selected language (en or fr), so it sticks across pages.
• psl.matchpairs.best.3x4 / .4x4 / .5x4 — your best completion time for each Match Pairs board.
• psl.dropzone.drops / .total / .best — number of drops, running total score, and best single drop in Drop Zone.

All of these are small numbers and a two-letter language code. None of them identify you, are transmitted anywhere, or have any value beyond your own session.

You can clear PolarStarLanding's localStorage at any time:

• Use your browser's “Clear site data” / “Clear browsing data” option, scoped to polarstarlanding.com.
• Browse in a private / incognito window — localStorage is discarded automatically when you close it.
• On Drop Zone, the “Reset stats” button clears Drop Zone counters in one click.

PolarStarLanding does not embed any third-party scripts, iframes, fonts, or images that would set cookies on your device. The only outbound links go to the four Play Responsible organisations; their own cookie policies apply once you visit those sites.
